CLUB RULES

Malton and Norton Golf Club 1. DRESS
Smart casual dress is the minimum requirement, both on and off the Course. Tailored shorts may only be worn with suitable knee length socks or white sports socks.
THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT ALLOWED EITHER ON THE COURSE OR IN THE CLUBHOUSE :
Mobile phones, denim jeans; track suits or any part thereof; trainer type shoes; uncovered braces; uncovered sleeveless shirts and collarless shirts. The practise of tucking trousers into socks is expressly forbidden unless they are then covered by overtrousers. As from January 2007 rules apply for Jacket and tie after 6.00pm in the dinining room.

2. PLAY
Play is allowed in three's or four's only, should start on time, progress without delay and ideally without causing hindrance to players behind. Two ball play is not allowed unless by special exemption, granted by the Secretary, on the day of the visit.

3. GENERAL
SMOKING is NOT ALLOWED in the DINING ROOM. The VISITORS CAR PARK is clearly signposted as you approach the Members Car Park and must be used. Visiting players are invited to read the Local Rules, clearly printed on the Score Card, before play commences.
Any special Local Rules will be listed in the Professionals Shop.

4. COURSE CLOSURE
Course closure is sometimes unavoidable; in this event every effort will be made to notify the Organiser in order, if at all possible, to avoid visitors being involved in a wasted journey.

5. VISITOR RESPONSIBILITY
Visitors are Temporary Members for the day but may not tee off after 4.45pm unless playing with a Member. Visitors failing to observe any of the Conditions may be asked by the Secretary or Professional or a Committee Member to reconsider their position; failure to do so may result in a request to leave the Course and in this event no refund of Green fee will be allowed.

6. ORGANISER RESPONSIBILITY
The Organiser is responsible for ensuring all members of the party are fully aware of the above conditions and for payment of the TOTAL Green fee due.

7. CLUB RESPONSIBILITY
The Club takes all feasible measures to maintain and present the Course in the best possible condition coincidental with prevailing weather and other conditions. Work on the Greens is, whenever viable, completed before Visitors play. Work on the Course, other than the Greens, may continue throughout the day.

By Order of the Committee. 17th July 2003
